What model are you looking at and are you implying anything from you forum name?
You can have anything from a 4 cyclinder 1.8ltr supercharged petrol to a V8 6.2ltr in the E class format.

The W211 series E class is a very fine car. After the cost cutting measures on the W210 series MB have returned to form.
The E is a much larger car than an A4, which would be the equivalent size to the C class. If you are after a used or nearly new then as there has been a minor facelift this will affect used and old stock prices. (Although not by much from an MB dealer).
Go and try a few because if you are not used to Mercedes they can be a little strange. As for the E350, used it will be decent value as it will never hold its price like the equivalent diesel model.

Mercedes is a name for ladies, and a ladies name was used for Mercedes, but do not dive into it too far or you will get the Benz bit.

Hi MIFL,

As you will see from the bit at the bottom of this reply I have owned a number of Audi's (Coupe, 80 Sport and an A6) and also a BMW 320 , and I currently own a Merc so I've had the full set. My opinion is as follows:

BMW - Currently more common than the Mondeo, although the new 5 has grown on me but their new cars are butt ugly and seem to have all sorts of reliability problems, plus BMW drivers have a bit of a "reputation" for being a bit leary. I tend to consider the BMW to be the chav chariot of choice.

Merc - after the Audi you will find the build quality of a Merc seriously disapointing but they definately have a pretty high street cred, and unfortunately bills to suit.

Audi - I sold mine at 160,000 miles (1999 A6 1.9 TDi SE) and it was still going like new. I did have some problems with it but looking back the only major one was the clutch going but at 140,000 miles (at the time) I hardly think that could be considered a fault. For what it's worth, the only reason I didn't buy a new shape A6 was that they are currently too expensive. My plan is to keep the Merc for a year and sell it and get another A6.

So my opinion, and an MB site may not be the best place to say this, is go for an Audi A6.

Our A6 sport quattro is the v6 turbodiesel with the 6 speed box. Very pleased with it.

I'd get an RS6 if I won the lottery (ok, I'd probably get a Lambo too but I have kids). There is one just down the road from me. What a noise it makes!

btw, Blobcat (if you read this) nice SR71 (or is it a Y4A?)
