I have an Audio 20 stereo, so purchased a lead from ebay and fitted yesterday.

There is a cable plugged into the socket left of the aux input (circled in the pic)
but I dont know what it does;

MP3 player works fine on the AUX input, its a bit quiet, maybe need an inline amp??

What is the socket and cable to the left for???

thanks

Google 'audio20 pinout' and have a look at the images section of the search results.

No the OP has a W203, and as you know the W211 audio 20 has no aux input.

found plenty of diags on google, but still dont know what that cable is for, most say "undisclosed" or "reserved" (???)

Also would like to know if its possible to change the volume setting for Aux as its a lot quieter than the radio and cd?

HI, i also have a c200 and am looking to connect the AUX to the rear of my Audio 20.
Can anyone help me?
Im an instrementation engineer, so i get basic electronics.
But just cannot find out whats what. As there seem to be so many different models of audio 20 head units. I have the basic audio 20 for a 2005 model. IF i press Cdc twice the aux appears. If thats any help.
But still unsure of cables etc.
Thanks:D

Are there any instructions for retro-fitting Comand and a camera to the W169 (2009)?

Thanks

Comand NTG2.5 is plug and play for you so just simply remove old unit as on the mercupgrades link: http://www.mercupgrades.com/Removing+Installing+COMAND+++Audio+on+A+++B+Class-article-36.html plug in the new one adding the aerial splitter and gps antenna.

There is no official camera option for rhe W169 so wont be a retrofit document but I gave you all the info you asked about, if there is anything else you need to know let me know.

Hi.
I've recently got an A160 2007 with an audio 20 head unit in. I wanted to use my iPod so I purchased a AUX cable which was from Radio World and called a carsio csa55.

I plugged it into the back of the head unit which was the same as the op's pics. Hiwever it won't allow me to select anything from the CDC button on the head. I can't get any music from the iPod.
Is there something else I need to do?

Do you get AUX INPUT ACTIVE on the screen, when you hold CDC button for a second or two?

When you say you plugged your cable in the back of the unit, are you sure you went for the correct connector?
The "Stecker" 3 and 4 are virtually identical, and you need number 3 (some cables don't have positioning lugs and will fit into either):

If the cable doesn't fit, you can always take the plug apart and pin directly - you need 12/11/6 for your AUX to work.

Not sure what exactly you bought, but here's the one that will definitely work with NTG2 Audio20, as pictured in my previous post:

Alternatively, as I said, you can simply connect individual pins, without the plug, to the correct ones on the unit - let me know if you need detailed instructions.

Please ignore the diagram, posted by the google warrior above - it's entirely wrong. Apparently, a search engine is not a substitute for a brain :D
