Recently purchased a 54 C200k with said entertainment unit. However, 4 days in and it seems that although the display is working showing that the radio is on, the CD changer is coming up with No CD (even when it has a full cartridge). And there is NO SOUND.

incidentally, if cd is put in CD drive it registers and plays but with NO SOUND.

Drove the car last night and all was well, this morning nothing.

Dont really want to take it to Merc dealer so that they can flick a switch an charge 50.00.

Please help.

Hello and welcome, you have a loose connection somewhere, and more than likely on the rear of the head unit, just slip the unit out, take care with the fiber optic leads

Sorry couldn't resist!

In all seriousness though this is an issue with Audi Concert systems. The volume control can go awol in so far as it doesn't work at all, or it will go from quiet to very loud in the smallest of rotations. I suspect it is an electrical contact 'cleanliness' issue. I'm sure Malcolm we be along with some ideas as he is very knowledgeable on this subject. In fact, he is knowledgeable on every subject! Annoying really;)
Just joking Malcolm!

I had to drive up to MB world on Sunday, when I got half way I thought OK some music, so I turned on the Comand, no Radio, CD selected but no sound, and the only thing that worked was the lady on the linguatronic.

So I talked to her for the rest of the journey. When parked up, I though of Basil Faulty and his remedies, so I gave it a whack, and it all came to life.

The Women in my family turn the radio off so they can chat at me too - I guess your linguatronic lady is more devious than we thought ;-)

Check the tweeter speakers in the triangles in the front doors. Make sure the pins are not touching the body and they are fitted into the trims correctly as no sound is caused by poor connections, or a short to earth on one or more of the speaker wires.
