Guys

I know I am adding to all the threads about Ipods, the aux input and Audio20 but I can't seem to find a thread that covers the CLK.

In essence, I have the Audio20 that has the aux option when you press the CDC button and the radio manual states there is a chinch (sic?) socket in the glove-box but I can not see where. There is, though, a pre-punched area in the lining where I presume such a socket would be.

I am not sure what they mean by chinch - is it a standard 3.5mm audio socket or is it a connector to attach the 3.5mm socket (and lead) to? If the latter, where would the connector be and does anyone know what the part number for the socket is?

Thanks

Dave

Thanks npuk

Just the final question then - as it looks like my CLK has part of the installation in - where would the socket be to connect the new wiring? Is it behind the side panel of the glovebox?

Thanks

Dave

Right, I think I know what I need but is anyone able to confirm?

The lead is part no A210 440 5005.

I priced it from MB Chester and they quoted £26.40 (£22 +VAT).

Out of interest, I also asked Commandonline about what part and they have quote this:

http://www.comandonline.co.uk/mb_aux_ntg2.html

which is £35.74!

Are these the same parts? If so, why are Command substantially more expensive than a dealer? If not the same part, which one is correct?

Confused:confused:

Thanks again npuk.

With the links to the upgrade process and the above, you only have to come and fit it and you'll have the job done for me. :D

Much appreciated

Dave
