good morning,
My recently acquired 2008 CL63 has a button on the inside of the bootlid to close it. It dosnt illuminate and dosnt do anything when pressed. I’ve checked all related fuses and are all fine. I have read about a fluid level to check? Any other advise? Things I can do before main dealer?

Stay safe!

Many thanks

M6 Cab - prior to that, SL63 AMG, A-M V8 Vantage, SL55, SL500 and many more
My last SL had a similar (I presume) system - it too went "off". It turned out that one of the wires between the switch and whatever had broken. I found it, soldered it & it worked for years thereafter. It was on the harness which runs up the bootlid - different on the CL63 but that's all I can suggest.

I would first check to see if you are getting power to the switch. If not as David says it's likely to be a broken wire. The system I think is hydraulic with the pump in the rhs of the boot, presumably the fluid level in that is what you have read about. Should be obvious if it's empty or if there's a leak.
