Auto box help

I would appreciate any help or advice on the following:

W202 250TD with 5 speed electronic box (128k miles). Just had the ATF and filter changed (all 5.5 litres). The car goes better than before, except when cold - sometimes you put your foot down, the engine revs and you move very slowly.

At 87K it had a new valve block, ECU, ATF change and filter.

Will it settle down? Is it just because its really cold at the moment?

Any ideas?
