Auto box problem

The car would not come out of park,then the engine would not crank over,it keeps blowing fuse 55 underbonnet fuse box 7.5 amp.I had it checked and shows the auto trans switch has gone,were is this located and are there any place to get a secondhand part as Merc want over £400.The car is a 52plate c180 petrol.Thanks.

Any info would be greatly appreciated as been let down by mechanic last two days.

What is the auto trans switch? Maybe I know it as a different name?

AA recovery ran a scan an stated auto transmission switch/steering position sensor.
If I change the 7.5 fuse the car will start but will not come out of park as it has blown fuse again,replace the fuse when car is running and I can select drive but fuse will go again and only give 1st or 2nd gear.All other fuses/elec working fine.

Had another scan done today and it shows shift pressure control solenoid valve current supply faulty.Is the solenoid located inside the gearbox?

Yes you do it with the valve block dropped and not too bad a job at all:D

Thanks guys!!:shock:had a look at that early today and thought hope its no in there!!kerb side autos will have a go.:D
