Hi All,

I've always had the side mirrors auto fold when locking the car, but all of a sudden it has stopped working and the menu option in the instruments cluster is no longer there!

I can still fold them manually using the mirror fold button.

I've not started the car for over two weeks as I was away and had a long run in it recently so the batter should be charged by now.

Anyone know where in star I can check if the functionality is there (star scan shows no errors with mirrors, just my dynamic seats) and if not enable it? I.e. Which control unit?

Thanks,
Don

The option was never there on my S203 but my local 'Star-enabled' indie configured it for me. And I must say it's better than the proverbial sliced bread.

So maybe your car needs to be plugged in and reset?

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the update, I wonder which menu needs changing as I have access to a star system!

Thanks,
Don

You need to go to mirrors and set auto fold, you probably have to tell the cluster as well that you have them.

It is coded in two places on a W203/S203.

Once in the front SAM and once in the cluster.

Both need to be set

The option in the cluster is convenience-> Mirror fold in

Thanks for all your support, this has now been resolved!

However, looking through the menu's, it seems that PRE-SAFE is disabled on the instrument cluster, does anyone know whether this was supplied with W219 CLS55 2005 registration car?

Thanks

Neither of these options appear when I roll through the menus on my S203,
- I'm okay because my indie set them on auto-fold but I wonder why they're not included as a user option?

Because MB never offered auto-fold on the 203 to simply to give the E class a superior spec.

I thought that they were on the later cars, I know that on the early cars it was not possible.

In that case the full coding wasnt finished when you had them enabled.

How did you get the option back?

My option has always been there but since replacing the DCM in the drivers door the autofold on locking no longer works.

It's not a major issue as you can still press the button to fold them in but I haven't had chance to look into why it is as it is yet.

I had to go into the IC -> control unit adaptations and special setting (I think), enabled the option and wrote changes to the IC

I also had to go into Driver side SAM and make sure that the auto folding mirrors was coded in.

Ahh ok so a star job then.

It was a bit annoying as I bought and fitted it myself and everything works apart from that, still in the instrument cluster but just don't fold when I lock it any more.
