Hi everyone,

I'm having trouble with my CLK 230 convertible auto gearbox. The car has been parked up for 3 months and not been started (mistake!). The battery was totally flat when I went to it. When I eventually figured out how to get in the boot to get to the battery I tried jump starting but no joy.I put another battery on, not the correct amp output but enough get it started. Drove it round 25 yds put it in park and then it would not select drive and was stuck in park and the esp light came on. The original battery was charged overnight and when put on the car today it fired up straight away. Put the car into reverse moved it 5 yds put it back in park and same problem stuck in park. Managed to clear the esp by turning steering wheel a few times. Any suggestions on why it is stuck in park would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Regards Kevin

Maybe the original battery has now failed . Try measuring what voltage it has

Battery would be my first port of call. Put in a known charged/good battery and go from there. These cars are very sensitive to low voltage.
