CLC 180 Kompressor
Ok, so I'm currently sat in my CLC180 Kompressor with the engine running (Car has been stood for a while, thus a jump start to cure the flat battery!) & the "AUTO lights inoperative" message has leaped into my dash.

Does anyone have any idea how to cure this or will it sort itself it when the battery is fully charged again??

Cheers.

What is the voltage at the battery?

Put the lights on normal setting and drive round for a while , see if it reverts to normal when the battery recovers .

Assuming there was no c0ck up in the jump start procedure, it's a pretty poor do on Merc's part if one of their cars isn't capable of being jump started.

They do seem more sensitive to spikes than any other brand

Signal Acquisition Module (SAM)

Takes the signals from the car and processes them for individual units. A signal is sent down a wire the SAM decodes it and tells the device to do something.

The device could be the headlights, sidelights, anything basically.

Low voltage seems to cause all kinds of problems with Mercedes.
Hopefully, and assuming the SAM hasn't been damaged when jump starting, get the battery fully charged and see if the auto lights function returns.
I would leave it on a 6amp battery charger for at least 24hrs. No need to disconnect the battery from the car unless you can't run a mains lead to the car.

If the problem persists you need th services of an MB independent (indy) who has all the main dealer expertise, tools and diagnostics but charges far less labour charges. Google "Mercedes independent" in your area to find one.
