Morning all. Had this issue twice last night on way home from work, I stopped and switched the car off for about a minute and after restart it was ok on both occasions! Any wise soul point me as to why this happens? The fluid level was checked not so long ago and was fine as always, never uses any. Bit concerned as to what is wrong.

Possible conducter plate failure in the auto box, just had ours done as the box was playing up when cold

Common issue on the 722.6 autobox

You can buy the kit on ebay inc fluid for around £180

It's probably the gearbox conductor plate, a well known issue with your gearbox.

Get it diagnosed/the plate replaced ASAP!!!

I bought my W203 CDi 220 with the knowledge that the plate needed changing (£450ish at a Mercedes Independent)
BUT, it had already been left too long :( Result, new secondhand gearbox needed (£1000ish as above!!) A NEW, new gearbox is
£ few thousand
