Hi all

Help, I have a 2001 A140 automatic, the box failed and I obtained and fitted a second hand box. I purchased required transmission fluid + a dip stick from my local MB dealer, problem is that I don't seem to be able to get the level right. Engine is at normal temp, level at 8-12, take it for a run recheck the oil and its way above the level! the manual says that the fluid temp should be 80c how do I check that?

Thanks

Ater a run,the gearbox will be the same tempurture as the engine,or near enough, that's around 85-90c.
