autobox not changing down

going to see another c250 chap says box will not change down when this happens speedo stops working he stops car startup and away it goes again he did 48mls yesterday did it 1time only he replaced brake switch no differance but jest told me ABSlight is on would a faulty sensor cause this your thoughts on this please

Yes a front wheel sensor if ABS and no speedo and the box locking up

It has to be and we had one the same last week,, you still have normal brakes without the ABS,,,,, those 3 faults leave nothing else but the front wheel sensor probably nearside

i have sensor that i kept of my old c220d part No.a202 540 24 17 R IT WAS ON CAR 3MTS BEFORE I SCRAPPED IT WILL THIS FIT C250 1999

malcolm it should not damage the autobox driving it 150mls home then i can fix it

I think it will be a slow journey if the box locks up, just take it easy and do not thrash it, thats all you can do, you can coast down the hills

auto box

well got the c250 TD home drove 170mls did the faults mentioned stop car removed key started car up no problem up throw gears but held on to 2 gear once and cleared its self with putting throttle up and down tested offside wheel sencor 2day with multimeter got a reading so it is alrite i think cleand lucterring through hole a lot of dirt came out will take a run 2moro to see and report back cheers to all peter

auto gearbox oil dark colour

took car for a short run today shifting up and down with ease nice and smooth even from cold checked oil very dark what is oil capacity if i drain from sump of box and what is the proper bulbs in main dash cluster as i need one for ABS cheers peter

If its very dark, should you not go for a full oil/filter change rather than just diluting your current oil?
