Hi all, we have recently purchased a B180 CDI SE CVT - 55 Plate - 85K - Full MB Service history.

I noticed yesterday that when going from reverse into drive and then pulling away and visa versa that there is a sharp judder on gentle excelleration, ie: parking manouvers etc.

Is this normal? I'm guessing not!

I have had a Nissan Murano3.5 V6 which has a CVT gear box and we never had a problem...

Any help, thoughts and comments would be gratefully recieved!

I know nothing about MB CVTs but my mother's Honda Jazz CVT developed a nasty judder when pulling away from standstill. A quick google revealed this was a well known problem and solved with a gearbox oil change (ATF). I hope something so easy and relatively inexpensive cures your problem.

I agree. Don't forget to use 5w/30 fully synthetic.
