Automatic Locking Stopped Working

1998 300TD Estate has developed its first problem! Not a bad record - but can anyone help with this, please?

The car should lock all doors once it achieves 10 mph, but in the last week it has stopped working.

Remote central locking still works, as does the lock/unlock button on the dash.

Do I have to take it to the dealer?

You have reprogrammed your key.  Read your handbook it is all explained.
Mines in the car and it's too late to go out for it.

Working with elsectonics quite a lot .. i would just look in your manual , switch the feature off and then back on and see how things go . Its an excellent feature , i wonder how i could do without it now . i just got to get my windows laminated and thats me !!

Is this feature on certain cars?  I have a '97 c36 but no manual, previous owners have lost it.  Is my car fitted with this feature, I would like to 'enable it' if it has.  I do have a button on the dash that locks all the doors, in case that has any relavence.

Does your car have the lights below the mirror or does it have the strange ignition key ?

If its got the lights below the mirror then no . If its got the infra red ignition key , then yes.


if you do have the key , ill post instructions on how to turn it on.
