I have a 270CDI ('05 W203) and was wondering if anyone knows if it is feasible to retro fit or enable the Auxiliary heating/ventilation option?

Sorry I lost this thread. Yes you can have the Webstabo fitted, but why not go for the simple electric mains block heater, cheap and easy to fit,but you do need a power point.

Thanks for your reply Malcolm, not sure I undrstand though! What is the Webstabo?
I was thinking of the option to be able to remotely start the engine and have the car interior warmed or cooled according to your aircon settings, or have I completely got it wrong!?

MB do have the Webstabo aux heater than runs on diesel and fits under the front wing for cold countries. This is the one reffered to for cold countries,it does not start the car up, as that is illigal with no one in it.

The one that I fitted was the block heater in Sweden, where you just join up to a time switch.

That is a common aftermarket option in Canada. You would have to check the legality over here for such a system.
Either do a search on Google.ca or have a look on the Canadian Tyre website.

Thanks Rory, Google showed nothing with Malcolm's spelling:)

The units quite legal here, there are a number of fitting centres in the South. Not sure my "finacial adviser" (wife  ) will sanction the £800 + fitting though!
