B class " transmission check"

B class ( 2009 ) auto says " transmission check, visit workshop"....... and then car goes into limbo, hardly revving.

Our mech said he cleared the codes, but I can still see the following :

Antilock brakes - 6319 fault in CAN communication with ( CVT control unit )

I am not sure if he will understand that code !?

Any ideas ? Thanks

Probably failing TCU. There should be other codes in other modules indicating the same (fault in comms) if that is the case.

Sanity check the connection and cabling before replacing any parts though.

Yep same box but different to the issues I’ve seen on ours previous.
Not revving certainly sounds more gearbox related issue but it would be good to confirm if it revs when not I’m drive.
Could be like Alex says TCU failing but needs more investigation before buying any parts and certainly live data read

I think they have said its the valvein gearbox, but I will find out more today

Hi, yes unfortunately Alex was right.... He said valve plate, but he confirmed today that it is the TCU.
never thought that would happen with a 42k mileage !
Anyway, i will probably change over to a c class again as I dont like this one.
