IMG_5794.JPG Hi All, I have an error up on the dash board, stating Turn signal right mirror.

If I indicate right the indicators works fine but the clicking sound is double the speed than if I indicate left. I have changed the mirror indicator unit although the original was was working fine to try and fix this problem.

Changed all the indicator bulbs for new....no difference at all....very frustrating. All bulbs and mirror indicators working fine.
Any ideas anyone

Thank you for your consideration

Regard Del

Do you have folding mirrors (option 500)?
The wires are known to break, and if you have intermittent contact, this is exactly the type of error you'd see in the instrument cluster.

Thank you. It's definitely a dodgy connection. I changed the setting to stop, the mirrors from folding when the car is locked. So they are permanently out and that cured the problem...so I'm getting closer to the problem area. Thx for the diagrams

Glad to hear that :)

Bear in mind, all the wires - nine for the option 500 - are black, from the door control module to the actual mirror, so go one-by-one (as in don't cut them all at once), to save on unnecessary testing later on.

Thick, silicone self-amalgamating tape is an excellent protection against future damage to those wires by folding / unfolding mirrors. Just over £2 from AliExpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Use...Water-Pipe-Repair-Tape-Tools/32798239787.html Remember to stretch it (considerably, don't be shy) when wrapping the wires.

Self amalgamating tape great stuff, used to use it when I was mast rigging. Still have some in the garage.

Thank you, that is excellent advice as I have known to rush in a bit quick from time to time !
