Any family types had the need to buy a babyseat for a W124 estate recently? If so, what did you get? The models I've investigated are non-commital about whether they're good for a W124.

Without having to physically find a supplier and test a number of seats, is anyone able to recommend one?

Like anything in life - you pay your money and you get what you pay for.!

If long journeys and/or comfort, you can't beat Recaro. Comfortable for the Little One - but pricey.

If you want cheap, then be prepared for the screams of a Little One as legs get chaffed, and 'numb bum' syndrome sets in.

I go Romer/Britax

as they supply MB as OEM. Works on the isofix in modern cars, uses seatbelts in more venerable models. Also not cheap, but can be sensibly priced on t'internet. I think I paid about £125 for our Duoplus. I also have some Vario-Ronnies which work a treat in the back of the SL, or any other lapbelt only set-up like the middle seat of a 124 or 202.

Get searching on Google.

We currently have a Maxi-Cosi Priori XP in the back of our W124 estate. I'd go for the XP over the slightly cheaper version, as it has a seatbelt tensioner that really gets it snug to the belt.
Bought it from www.kiddicare.com, and got a pretty good price.

Whatever you do, don't buy a car seat (or any other baby stuff) from a company called Two Left Feet. You will regret it. Look up some online reviews.

Before this seat, when our daughter was newborn, we had a Bebe Confort Creatis, (hard to lift baby out of it) which I wasn't crazy about, and then a Maxi-Cosi Cabrio, which was very good.

So on the whole I'd recommend Maxi-Cosi. Had a brief experience with a Britax seat but didn't like it at all.
