Been away for a while since selling the E55, currently running a Jag XK but decided last year to find something to use for work during the week and keep the miles off the Jag.
Bought a BMW330i. Nice car but after 10 months my backside was so numb I had to get rid! Also it had a thirst for the unleaded , so tired of helping Gordon fill his black hole I have got myself a C2.2 saloon.
Nice one owner job fitted with 17" rims Auto box and cream leather. Its the 200 version so I am thinking of getting it re-mapped, anyone found or used a specialist for this in the midlands they would recommened? Not keen on the tuning boxes and would prefer a proper re-map.
Currently getting 44mpg on average so very pleased. I wanted a an E320 but this offered better value at the moment and low (only 23k ) miles WDYT?
Here's a couple of quick photo's after a day with the polisher and wax! It's tansanite Blue but looks nearly black in the pictures, The paint responded well to a light cut and polish so a day well spent:D

There's always Brabus, developed with and approved by MB.
You need to inform your insurance or your policy will be void.

I still have my doubts on the whole thing,,cars as supplied by MB use a different gearbox when the output changes by more than 30-50 BHP on the different car.

From what I have been told the engine box etc. in the C200 are the same as the 220 but the ecu is mapped to reduce the output, not sure why. I did have this confirmed by a MB dealer. So hopefully I shouldn't be doing the car any damage. ;)

It is so flat at the moment, I drove a 220 E class a couple of years ago and that was far better even with the larger car/weight etc. So I am hoping this will give her a bit more go... :D

I tend to drive fairly steady anyway so she will be treated with respect and looked after.

I think many of the issues are from people that drive with their boot firmly in the carpet, just my oppinion though.

They both use the 772.699 gearbox so no problems on that front. The 270cdi used another box

When you go to the next stage on the cars say the 270cdi to the 320cdi then a different gearbox is used

Thanks Malcolm, good to know what people have told me is correct.
I'll get it done and hopefully it will improve the drivability of the car as other than being flat she's a cracker and seems spot on. The chap that owned her before was an elderly gent so the miles are only 23K. All the book stamps are there and the paint is straight and virtually as new, bar a few touch ups.

I'll report back on the chipping front once completed
:D
