2 years after leaving the MB family, I am now back again with the new W204.

1 month into it and it has already developed a rattle just behind the right door speaker and the driver side door doesn't close shut as easily as it did a month ago.

But I like it this way, it gives it more character. A car that is solid smooth is just too sterile for my taste.

will try and figure out how to attach photos later tonight.

welcome back.
Interesting to hear about the niggles. Nothing major I suspect, just teething troubles.
I like your comments about the character. I was discussing this with a collegue this morning. Apparently the car with the least problems per 100 cars is also one of the most boring - a Toyota. The one with the most issues is also one of the most characterful - an Alpha!
I'd rather have niggles too!

That'll be an Alfa as in Romeo not an Alpha as in male?

I agree about the character, Jap cars are so dull................

I'd be interested to hear about your W204 (The new C class yes?) as I am seriously thinking about getting one. Is it a petrol you have or a diesel?

Toyota is reliable - that's about it. So you are right JBerks, they are pretty boring. Used to drive a Toyota Corolla in my teenage years, honestly, I don't remember much about that car. Then I got a Proton with has real quality issue , like the color of the bonnet fade at a much faster rate than the rest of the car! but that was a fun car.

The new W204 is a bit more polished than the W203 but still a lot of fun to drive. I look forward to taking it out for a drive all the time. It is a C280, not exactly a rocket but adequate.

Joem, what other cars have you considered?

Dont know how to attach pictures here, so will stick it into gallery instead

Hello

Car looks very nice funny how white is the new silver....

Jap cars dull sorry disagree maybe the run of the mill stuff (but it does work!!) what about the MX5, RX7's, 350Z's, Skylines etc etc

My brother does upwards of 55K miles a year and the only car that needed nothing other than a service was a Lexus is200 auto in 120K (or 18 months he had it) it was also a nice comfortable car to drive and full of goodies.

Anyway back to your car....

Lovely.

Good thing about white cars over black you don't see that layer of sahara dust in summer as easily that drive you mad.

As daft as it is white does end to 'look' clean also.

Saying that its a while since I have had a white car. I think black looks superb when clean but keeping it clean is a pain. So silver it has ben for me for quite a few years and different cars.......

In all of my 460 odd cars that last white one was a triumph 2500 estate or XJ6 back in the 70's. during the 60's white was the in thing on BMC and Jag E types

Those mirrors do seem a little large...

Could nickname the car "wing-nut" :D

our last car was black and it was a real pleasure to look at when clean and it was also a pleasure to clean and wax ( sadistic I know!), but when I saw a promo poster by MB for the new C, I wanted the exact copy , white with AMG kit.

Dont mean to offend any owners out there, Japanese cars do have merit in terms out bulletproof reliabilty. The car that our C replaced was a Lexus IS250. Beautiful cruiser but not much fun to throw around. The IS was beautifully put together and the number of toys that comes with it was pretty amazing. It was very comfortable to drive but after a while it gets pretty dull.

PS the IS250 also has Mickey Mouse wing mirror, even bigger than the C!

My first love with MB was my uncle's car when I was a little boy in the 70's - dont know what model it is , only remember that it was white with red leather bench seat upfront and absolutely classy and gorgeous.

Sexy's back, white's back.
