bad signal clk

hi have just upgraded radio to dvd on my 98 clk320 coupe everything fine but can get no reception at all on am. fm fine. just get a pulsing interferance i know radiois ok as conected it to an ordenery pull up aerial and it was fine as was old merc radio any ideas please

This is a hard one, if the FM is good and no AM all I can think of is that the radio does not match or like the aerial amp that is in the car. easily tested by just withdrawing the radio and testing again with the telescopic one or a piece of wire plugged into the center pin, take care with the aerial plug as the inner cable breaks off very easily

all sorted checked the aerial amp no power to it so connected blue white wire to aerial cable from player problem solved.
