I seem to have a problem with my C220 CDI - Auto - 03 plate.
The BAS and ESP warning light seems to appear on the dash on startup and has become more frequent in the last few weeks.
I switch the ignition off and restart and all is fine - no warning lights.
I have read some posts and have realised it could be the brake light switch.
So I popped over to the dealers and they provided me with one - approx £13.
However, my mechanic could not locate it under the footwell. On further investigation by him, it appears that on this model the switch is part of the master cylinder (near the brake fluid container).
So i took the switch back to the dealers and they have quoted me £70 for the new part. (it is not stocked so they have to order it and i cant claim a refund if it is incorrect)
I just wanted to check before i place the order whether this switch which is attched to the master cylinder will still be the cause of my problem or is it only the ones that are located under the footwell.
Any advice will be well appreciated.
Thanks
