It has only come up once, on my 2002 sports coupe, as soon as i switched off it has never come back..
Story so far, Bought a brake light switch, tried to fit it myself, couldnt find it, so took it to mercedes at 8am this morning, they took it apart then told me that it doesnt have a switch, its built into the MasterCylinder or something!
However, on a basic test there were no problems reported with it..
They did however find "a long list" of other problems, she didnt really mention what, but said there were quite a few things, pressure switches etc that were coming up as faulty but would require 2-3hours labour just to diagnose, and told me id be better off finding someone else with a STAR machine.
In the end, they took it apart, realised it didnt have a brake switch, put it back together, refunded the switch i had bought, and greased my parking brake linkage which i asked them to do.. They didnt charge me anything for this.
Question is, what would you do? Should i leave it? and wait for these hidden problems to become more apparent??
Thanks, Steve.
