Battery being drained?

I have a 2007 C220 estate which has run without any problems until recently, when the command system would not respond and would not turn off, if I remove fuse 64 it will reset, but after a short time starts to play up again.
The battery is constantly being drained and if not used daily, has to be jump started, the Indy garage thought that it was due to the command centre, but even with that being off, the problem remains.
Please can anyone offer advice? It's probably best to mention that I'm not a mechanic!

Comand will turn off if battery voltage is low.

There could be a number of things causing a drain. Best take it to a local mercedes specialist to get it diagnosed otherwise it is really a case of pulling different fuses till you find the cause and the drain stops.

Thank you for the replies.
It is not that the command switches off, it stays on, but doesn't respond, so that I am unable to change radio station, access sat nav, or simply turn it off. It has already been to a local specialist and they have so far not found what is causing the drain, however, the command problem started shortly before the battery problem.
Thank you for the link television, I will have a read, although I would have thought that the test would have been carried out while it was at the garage.

So you think the comand is at fault, is there a phone in the car or CD changer as these can also cause the comand to lock up

Yes, it still has the original Nokia phone fitted, I haven't changed it in the three years that i have owned the car, is it something that can go wrong after time?

In order to check things correctly you disconnect anything on the same circuit, so unplug the phone module and test the drain, then the CD changer and test and if still a drain its the display or main unit unit. A good garage with electrics
Should have a clamp meter and have no problem in coming up with a definite answer.

You have already tried without the fuse for Comand and still had the drain. Now try removing the fuse for Comand as well as phone, cd changer, amplifier if you have an upgraded sound system and see if the drain stops.

Thank you for the excellent advice.
I noticed that despite the command system stating the phone was off, it was actually still on and I assume still charging, so I have removed it from the holder.
The car has been deliberately left without being driven for two days and started first time, also the command system is currently responding.
Is this likely to be a fluke, or can it really be something so small and simple, that causes a drain on the battery?
Thank you again.

Phones are funny things and often take several goes to get them back again.

Happy motoring
