Hi All

I have a 98 A160 - S Reg. My key fob isn't working to open the car and the engine wont fire up - its not even ticking over. The internal and external lights are all working - the red immobiliser light is on but not flashing.

So Im thinking maybe its the battery in the key? Can anyone advise on how I know for sure?

Please let me know if you need any further info.

Thank you so much

More likely the battery in the car since the battery in the key is not used for starting the car.

You should first test the remote, if the Red alarm armed light is on then the alarm hasn’t been disabled, unlocking the car with the remote button will unlocks the car and disable the alarm.
