This is a recurring problem and results with messages all of which eventually go away. After 10 day holiday car had to be opened with emergency key again and jump-started. Drove 200 mile round trip today but could not get any heat to demist the or heat the car. A new battery has been fitted in the hope of sorting out this previous bad experience but now I am back to square one. Help please!

You do need to check that the car is charging,,it needs a voltmeter coupled over the battery, 12.5 volt ignition off and about 14 volt with the engine running

Thanks for your prompt response .. they are all helpful. It would appear that the battery is charging as once started there is no problem staring it again until it is not used say for about a week. I will try and find the heater valve and give it a tap. Thanks again for the help!

Then I think that you could have a drain somewhere on the car as something is leaking,, the total current drawn when the car is sleeping should be not more than 60ma

Thanks all .... I have 'tapped' the valve but to no avail. I ordered new part from Main Dealer and expect to have it tomorrow. Would anyone have instructions on how best to fit it? Thanks again!

Replacing heat exchanger shut-off valve

Dear All
It took almost three hours to complete this task and I have heat again. I would like to warn all innocents like myself that this is not an easy task. It is technically very straightforward but accessing the valve and fitting the new one is extremely difficult because of its location and almost total lack of working space. Also the new valve is not identical to the old one and will not seat itself on the original bracket!
Thanks to everyone again!
