Battery help

I have a 2008 SL 350. The auxiliary battery is playing up and I am having trouble identifying a suitable replacement. Can anybody help. I have found Bosch batteries
on Amazon Prime France but clear information over the correct size.

This one should fit , it's a pretty much standard size across the whole mb range tbh.

Thankyou for that, my only concern the battery in the car is a 12v 70ah ??????? These are showing 12v 12ah or 15ah.

Aux battery and main battery are 2 different things.

The battery in the boot is 12v 70ah................I am aware the batteries are different. I am trying to find the correct rating for the battery
in the boot. Have I had the wrong rated battery fitted incorrectly before.

Your opening line is about the aux battery , please make up your mind.

The one you refer to is in the boot (the other one is under the bonnet, for starting only) - you need the "consumer" battery.

The one shown is not the right one for the car.

The battery in the boot should be an 096 AGM - 12v 70AH AGM.
It's important the replacement is the same type as the original.
The under bonnet (Starter) battery is an AUX1 (062) AGM battery - 12v 35Ah.

I have no idea what the one above is for - E class perhaps?

A 12v 70ah battery isn't the aux . It's the main. Maybe try a common sence question next time . Try putting your reg number in as advised .

I think you misunderstood my question which has been answered by other members.

Most mercs use the smaller battery as the aux , in this case your car obviously has in effect 2 starter batteries .

Back in the w211 days the bigger battery in the boot started it , under the bonnet was a smaller aux battery as pictured in my post. Obviously not all mercs are the same .

SLs use the one under the bonnet for basic vehicle functions.
The one in the boot runs everything else.
Generally the rear one is referred to as the consumer battery (the message when it's under charged is "Consumers offline").

On others such as the R Class the main battery runs everything and the auxiliary battery only provides power for the ISM to ensure the gearbox goes into park.

I think 211s are different again and start stop also likely different.

My R Class only had the one battery which lived under the driver's seat. I did used to see reference to AN Other battery that lived under there with it, but there was definitely only the one battery under my R 320's seat

The other is under the drivers feet. Not easy to see or access!
