I know I may get slated here but I need a bit of help. My wifes W202 estate needed a new battery (had it tested etc) so I went aong to my local Kwik Fit and they saw what one I needed and fitted it. When I got home I noticed that the Automatic open/shut on the windows wasnt working the normal manual shut was though. So I took it back and they said that yes they had fitted a slightly wrong one so they ordered another (correct) one for the next day. They fitted this one and it was doing the same thing. Now they recon that it should be ok and they dont understand why it is doing this with the windows. So thay have gone straight to Mercedes and got me one from there I will go in on Saturday and get it fitted, this is at no extra cost. So I am getting a £110 Merc Battery for £70 in affect which is good. Although I did notice that after driving 20 miles or so the problem with the window had gone and they were/are now working fine. Any ideas why they would go like this? I am expecting it to happen when they fit the MB battery.

Read your owners manual, after a Battery change many things need resetting and Quickfit would not know how. Read the manual and then understand.

You'll need to do this for the down position as well - and don't forget the sunroof, if you have one fitted.

Personally I bought mine from the stealers, as in this case it was both cheaper and had a higher Ah rating than that offered elsewhere.

After a few bad experiances with Kwik fit and their expensive, cheap quality parts I don't go there anymore.

What I have had is the driver's window, (when pushed to go up all the way on auto), only goes up half way and stops.

Technical guy at my dealer says: -
Sit in car,
Run engine to get full operating voltage,
Lower window with the manual stop (i.e it goes down only while you hold switch). Leave 2 seconds.
Raise window with manual setting till fully closed. Hold switch for 2 seconds after window reaches closed position.

I tried it and so far it has worked fine.

Yes that is the way to do it, with cars like the SLK, CLK and SLs you have to do the same with the roll bar, All the car is asking is Please let me know where all of these things are. I have never known any sun roof to be programed.
With ESP the car is asking, please turn the wheel 3 times from lock to lock, then I can find the center wheels ahead position.
