Battery Warning Light

I recently replaced the battery on my 500SL (R230) because the battery warning icon kept appearing together with the warning Electrical consumer switched off.

Although the battery has been replaced I am still getting the same symptoms and wonder if this could be an alternator problem?

If so, any idea how much it costs to replace the alternator.

alternators per-se rarely fail, but the brushes and diodes are usually the culprit

wait until you get a proper diagnosis from someone here
