Becker Indianapolis in ML

Hi - I have bought a Becker Indianaplois 7920 to fit in my Mar 01 ML 270CDI but would like to know if I need a canbus adaptor to connect the speed pulse? If anyone has installed this or a similar Becker GPS unit into a ML I would be very grateful for your advice.
