The best place is kwikfit no go = no charge, and only between £35 and £45

Malcolm they maybe cheap but I have had a member of my family use them in your neck of the woods and she was charged £49 for a regas. Thought it was a total bargain but when the gas leaked out of her Ford Focus through a poor seal, it came to light that she would have been charged extra for flourescent dye, and compressor oil matching what came out at £5 per cc!! She was then charged an additional amount for refilling with gas, dye etc etc so the leak was located and repaired, then finally gassed a third time... Her total bill was in the realms of just under £300 for technically a pipe seal, receiver dryer and a regas.

It has been rumoured that a lot of complaints were made to them and others on the same sort of offer and it sounds like it has been changed now.

Only advise is be careful.

I and a lot of good consciencious specialists, offer an air-conditioning service which is how it should be done (in my opinion) for a bit more than KF etc but it's conducted properly to not have the same consequences as above. (Not a sales pitch before anyone suggests otherwise  by the way!)

I took mine to Kwik Fit last year for a re gas. It turned out to be free as they couldn't make the system work at all and they advised me I needed to specialist as they thought the system u/s. Well alarm bells started ringing as I'd never had a problem with it. I had a friend take a quick look and all appeared fine. Turned out they had operated the a/c switch inside the car on the wrong position, every was working as it should. Personally I was say Kwik Fit were fine just to re gas but their knowledge is very sub standard compared to a good specialist.

As in my case when the SAM went down, and the S-A-M came to the rescue
