Ok Time has come for some decent tyres for my W140 S500.
I have tried 16/17/and 18 in wheel/tyre combinations and found 17in alloys to be the right balance between handling and comfort.
I need some good tyres .....what do you all think?
I could fit some 18 in coupe wheels but dont want a hard ride.
I hope I havent started a war here !!!!!!!!

Thanks
Carl

I would put the size up on Google and do a search to see what prices come up

Sure..but its not really about price at this stage . Does anyone run on the 18in coupe wheels (factory originals) are you happy with the ride?

Just as a point on interest,,I have just put 19" wheels on my SL as against the 17" that some come with or the 18" that I took off.

I did not want that hard ride, or the risk of wheel damage, so on the 285 x 30 that should be on the rear, I went down to 275 but went up on the profile by 1 to 35. this gives me a good ride, but increased the Ø by 20 mm,,the effect of this is that I have lost my speedo -10% error and it now reads spot on. I did the same on the front respectively
