Beware of lorrys as it seems that firms are employing european drivers to drive thier rigs as opposed to I'm drivers to save money although not all drivers are bad I notice a lot running bent one such instance was yesterday I pulled into the services for my second break when I noticed the Irish registered truck next to me had several loose wheel nuts on the driving wheels upon alearting the driver a European the only word he could speak in English was yes and didn't seem to give a damn give these such vehicles extra space no need to point out what a wheel coming loose at 60mph can do

As do a lot of the bus companies. Unable to get UK drivers as wages are so poor £7 per hr with up to 3 hours unpaid breaks in a twelve hour day, in various parts of the country.

Polish bus drivers in Glasgow are getting lessons in Glaswegian as they cannot understand the locals. Requests like "wan & a hauf in tae toon" are met with a blank stare when everyone knows it means "one adult and one child, going to the city centre". :lol:

Doubt if i could understand either. With the high turnover of drivers might start to become expensive, mind you the bus companies are probably making the drivers pay themselves.

Actually - this is quite easy to avoid happening to you.

Regular good observation should spot a lorry as being "foreign" easily enough, and then you just need to ensure that you spend as short a time as possible in the "blind spot" - which is basically anywhere next to the tractor unit of the rig.

So - when doing overtakes on dual carriageway/3 lane roads - hang back from the car in the overtaking lane (ie stay visible in the rig's mirrors) until you can get well in front of the rig in one easy movement.
