A C200 would be around 140bhp based on my C220 being 150
My E270cdi is 170bhp and 370lbft
Daft really - my E240 was the same 170bhp but only 170lbft so no comparison even though they appear to be the same. Thats the thing about diesels - if they could rev to 6,500rpm the bhp would be staggering!

he he my other car is a Volvo 850 2.5 20V GLT Estate with 170BHP Malcolm sadly with a blown engine BUT i thought the 850/V70 T was 240BHP in auto form and 250 in manual kunfoosed as to 276 :confused:

The V70R uses the 2.3 engine, it came with different outputs according to the gear box. the first were 250bhp early 98, getting to 268 by 99 the latest is just under 300.
They cost back in 98 £38.5k and have super seats 17 speaker dolby surround
17" wheels huge disc etc.
I stress here that I am a pensioner, and I bought it with 16k miles from my best friend for £15k back in 00 that was 5k under book then.
Whats wrong with your engine ?

ITS DEAD....or TERMINALLY ILL.............dont really know what is wrong with it have not taken it apart but it is making expensive noises from both the top and the bottom and running on 2.5 cyls at least that is what it seems like. At 198K miles i think it is due a decent burial - time for a new(er) one - i have found a Renault Safrane engine - same engine 2.5 20V with 40K miles on the clock just trying to get it at a sensible price most of the Volvo engies i can find are 100K plus miles or 2.5 10V units and no i am not going to put a 850/V70T unit in it.
