hi:

I am new and need some help to point me to an URL where i can buy the whole head unit. Currently, i am on halogen and would like to change to bi-xenon.

I am driving a w209, clk200k. As this is a RHD car, URL meant for LHD cannot be used.

Thanks in advance. If there are something electrical that i need to do when i am installing the xenon, do let me know as well.

Thanks.

It's unfortunately not that simple. In order to have xenons, your vehicle must have automatic headlamp level adjustment and a headllamp washer system (European Law). The lamps also require a high-voltage ballast, which is normally a separate unit. Aftermarket replacement units (mostly from korea) tend to be no-where near the quality of the proper originals (philips, bosch etc). There are many articles on the internet about this.

I know that Arnie is right, so it's not simple.

But if you are determined checkout http://www.mbenz.nl/ and send Steve an e-mail about it.

He had some W203 bi-xenons recently, and may be able to help you.

Wondered why they need washer system more than other lamp types. Do they otherwise overheat? dazzle? not look so good? nuke the car in front  ? affect radar / laser guns :p ?

Also "thought" that C Class optional xenons (which come with washer system) had the standard manual wheel level adjustment?

When you start up xenon lights, and watch their reflection, you'll see that the lense rises up into position. Whether there is an additional levelling switch I don't know, though I can't see why you'd need one.

Maybe this auto levelling would not work if the lens was dirty and would be a hazard to other road users? hence the mandatory headlamp wash?

Now what we need is an auto car wash feature?
