But then what have they replaced the "Defender" with ? !

IMO LR/RR have forgotten their original buyers - and perhaps that's what has led to their current distress - plus of course their products were predominantly Diesel and pretty uneconomical.

They need to adapt and perhaps replace the old Defender (which although I didn't like it, it sold) with something that has the same idea.

Closest to a Land Rover although still better having a real 110, everything available new, although doors are criminally expensive :(

Surely the thing better than a 110 is a Landcruiser - or any other car that works! - it’s no coincidence they are used in war zones, totally reliable and dependable. Will do everything a Landrover will do, just for a lot more than 5 miles before it breaks down!

2019 - Land Rover most unreliable car

And it’s been that way for years.

There isn’t a 2019 Land Rover... they haven’t made a Land Rover since Jan 2016…

The group is Jaguar Land-Rover.

The ranges are Range Rover, Discovery and Defender.

It was the Discovery that reached the very pinnacle of unreliability, although the Range Rovers were pretty consistently awful too hence landing the who brand the coveted “most unreliable” prize..... I think the Defender hadn’t fully been launched.

Oddly Jag were quite a bit better.

Not the XF 3.0S my Son in Law had. Jaguar bought it back from him after less than 2 years because it had persistent electrical faults they couldn't get to the bottom of

What's to get - the 2 I have owned were the most unreliable pieces of cra* ever made, never ever again - I haven't met one owner without problems - my partners sister has had a string of problems with her Discovery that was main dealer supplied at a year old - and I would have been down the "Unfit for purpose and not of merchantable quality" route way before now!!!!

Defenders were a bit better as they were so basic, but not any more and the new one will be riddled with issues in a year or so.

Just bad cars with good marketing.

And it couldn’t score a lot lower with Warranty Direct either

Sorry, which bit of "Land Rover" Discovery makes it "Not a Land Rover".....

Its... a Land Rover Discovery, made by the firm Jaguar Land Rover by the Land Rover division... what is it a BMW? - ooh no, can't be that because BMW sold it when they realised they couldn't make them reliable!

You're confusing "Brand" and "Vehicle", that's OK most people do

Nope, not confused at all.

The Range Rover, Discovery and Defender ranges are all made by the company Land Rover. Which are a sub division of JLR (Jaguar Land Rover).

It is Range Rover and Discovery that are actually misleading, as they too are actually Land Rovers, but made under the brand name "Range Rover" or "Discovery". They are even supposed to be placed in separate areas in the showroom and on the Sales pitch in order to try and distance themselves from Land Rover. Defender is a model line in itself now too.

All three lines are Land Rover.

Please see the link to Jaguar Land Rovers product line up and factories below to clear up your confusion.

This shows where everything is made and which branch of the company makes it.

Hopefully this will help.

I, for one, get the point you're making BC. I have friends who drive a Disco and would never call it a Land Rover and many of the farmers around here who drive a proper Land Rover (Defender) would never call it any else other than a Land Rover.

I also have a Mini - or should that be a BMW?
