Because the Continentals came out the easy clear winner in the aquaplaning tests and was the ONLY tyre to get full marks of 10/10 during the corner test. And that is where and when a significant number of accidents happen.
The continentals came out 3rd of 6 makes tested overall. So not a bad result really.
I suppose my comments on the continentals did sound a bit harsh. I should have said the Eagle F1's did really well and since they cost less than the continentals I would go for them....
mitchell are always a good make but cost so much more I just don't think they are worth it.
I'm about to change all four on my W202. Still trying to decide what to go for. Had my mind set of Michelin Pilots or even the Energy ones they're doing now, but those tests have got me thinking that maybe Michelin's are the "Mercedes-Benz of tyres!!" any more.
Got Dunlops fitted at the moment and I think they are aweful. Get the ESP light flashing up all the time, at very moderate speeds.
