black window trim finish

hi there we have an 02 c class estate and all of the black chrome type window trim has lost its finish and is pitted etc even some parts of the chrome trim along the side has rust spots...call this mercedes quality?

as rust goes on the bodywork every time i wash it there are new chips of varying size which have started to rust i always touch them up but how thin is the paint to chip like this.......

The window trim is normally anodized alli, do have a go at MB for a replacement,,tis not your fault that it has gone
