I have just got my shiney black C Class and have had some additions made to it that you can't normally get in a Classic, mainly i have had the interior trim changed to a aluminium one (pay back for a merc balls up on the order)

Now i want to know if it is possible to replace the model badges (in my case Classic) that are on the sides of the car with some blank ones

I just want the car to be black front to back and the only other colour is my alloys and my alloy trim

any thoughts?

p.s. other than why would you do that

you can check if they are on pegs with the dental floss as well :)

just try and run some behind the badge - if they are on pegs you'll get behind them fairly easily and find a couple of points of resistance where the pegs are but if they are glued on you'll find it a bit more difficult to get the floss behind the badge.

I'm not sure about the side badges but the boot numbers are self adhesive, only the star has pegs on it

If you remove the badges I should think the old Ford badge fix will work (ie: scrape away the paint with a knife then repaint it black). Yes, I had yellow Ford badges on my yellow Professional's-style Capri!

Only my opinion Luke, not confirmation, that the side badges are self-adhesive. It's a long time since I came across a pegged badge, but as Andy says, the boot star is an exception.
Surely there's a partsman or bodyshop man can come in here and confirm for Luke?
