Hi all, is there a way to switch off the blue efficiency on a Mercedes 350 I am worried that it will damage the starter motor as its constantly on and off.

Thanks

are you talking about the eco stop/start? does your engine cut out when you come to the lights etc. if so there should be an on/off button on the dash.;) the blue efficieny is just the engine name,(mercedes are doing there bit for the enviroment).

Is there not an ECO button for you to toggle it on or off.

Unfortunately there is no way of switching it off permanently... it's one of the first things I enquired about!

Don't worry about damaging the starter motor.
If it's the same system as on my S350, I have been informed that the engine is restarted by the alternator using the poly v belt. Apparently the system puts voltage into the alternator and uses it instead of the starter
Hence that fact that it only operates when the engine is warm and the battery is fully charged.

Blue Efficiency isn't the stop/start system AFAIK - it's the term for the engine
