What use exactly is the Bluetooth on the Comand fitted in my R class?

It pairs with my BlackBerry torch but thats it! Can't transfer phonebook contacts, I can't operate my phone from the Comand system.

It seems that the only use is for a headset, and why would you have a BT headset when you have Comand?

Hopefully someone will tell me where I am going wrong but after 5 weeks I am stumped.

The Comand unit in your car wont have full bluetooth connectivity to pair with a phone, it is just to upload phonebook and pair with personal headsets. However from MY09> the audio and comand units do now have full bluetooth connectivity so can pair directly with a phone.

You need to check if you have phone pre-wire. If you do then you will have the UHI exchangeable cradle connector in the centre armrest and you can connect any of the cradles on the link below:

If you dont have phone pre-wire it can be retrofitted but it isnt cheap. The official retrofit will still require a cradle. http://www.comandonline.co.uk/Mercedes-Phone-retrofit-kit-MOST-based-cars.html

Or there is an aftermarket option the Fiscon Pro kit which works out cheaper and works exactly the same as MB phone pre-wire but wont require a cradle. http://www.comandonline.co.uk/Fiscon-Pro-Mercedes.html
