Body paint code Vs Trim paint code

Hi,

I have a 1990 R129 in Astral Silver (735). How do I find out the original paint code for the trim (Sacco) panels? I suspect that the rear bumper was replaced and I think the colour is wrong; but it's close! I presume the trim panel code is on a sticker somewhere??
When the car was specified, would the trim panel colour have been an option, or would it be tied to the 735 Astral Silver colour?

Put your VIN in and it SHOULD come up with the full vehicle build sheet - including the codes for the trim and paint colours. (Caveat is that it may not go back as far as 1990, but it's worth a try. Let us all know if it works!
(If it doesn't, there are a bunch of references n the US W209 (CLK) forum to a (Russian?) site that does the same thing - but I've not tried it......

It says 735 for both colours; so maybe it's just a matte version of the body paint. Looks different though
I'll investigate further!
