one thing is guaranteed
waiting won't make it heal up at all. It will probably get worse, depending on what exposure it has. If it's kept in a dry warm garage, then that will probably be the slowest deterioration, but deteriorate it will. Ask your local dealer which body shop they use, and the pop along yourself and get a quote. Try the same with other prestige dealers bodyshops ( I'm thinking the BMW/Jaguar/Porsche) and try and find out who the best local paintshops are. Your local Halfords or other accessory shop will know. Then pop around to them and get quotes. Make sure you get them all to quote for whole panel, bare metal strip and prep and respray, with fade-ins to neighbouring panels, as a minimum, and also for a whole vehicle strip and paint.
