bonnet release

Can anyone tell me how to open a bonnet on an A class when the release wire has come adrift? I can hear movement from the engine bay while using the release catch so i think the wire has come away.

Try getting a second person to tug on the bonnet while you pull the cord as it is most likely just stuck!!
