W204 C220 Diesel
Hi
Last days i have a problem with my W204 2007 c220 diesel.
When i driving on the highway after some km the car entered in safe mode. When turning it off and restart it, after few km of highway driving i have the same.
I have change the turbo and the actuator with a remanufactured turbo but the problem remains. The engineer says the error is "boost pressure control".
Can you help?

That's a very high inlet air temperature value.....

intercooler exterior blocked mud/oil/mud oil/dust ??
Bad sensor more likely. I'm not sure but I think the IAT sensor is in the air inlet before the air filter (it is on the 129 as mine was duff).

At a little guess I’d say inlet O2 sensor giving the wrong signal and then the sensors after throwing up a pressure too high.

So this is the reason that goes into safe mode and not the turbo actuator?

One step at a time. Fix the obvious faults first.

i wonder how much gets spent each yr on replacin crap sensors . as a NMP they ought to last forever .unless wires get cut.

I would get yourself in STAR and start looking at live values and the full test requirements before throwing more money at sensors or other parts. STAR combined with the TIPS menu can trace a root cause much quicker than just looking at error codes.

totally agree with Matty , stop throwing parts at it and pay for a session on star to pin point the exact fault

whilst its prob the best of diagnostics,it dont always go straight to the issue as witnessed by some stories on here, i fairly sure its almost the first stage used by dealers after a basic look around. having said that its what i do, a good look around then hook up.

Yep, it does very much depend on the operator and how much they actually know about how to use STAR. I’ve said it before now, STAR is a useful tool but if you don’t know what you can do with it it then becomes a very expensive code reader, there are much cheaper alternatives if that’s all you need.

Don’t worry your not alone there, the amount of time it takes me to remember where to test for things in star at times is comical

its an extremely useful bit if kit frankly in my case well under used. i consider myself fairly competent at what i do with it,but sure that i am unable to use it to its full extent and very wary about pressing any keys in error .ie trying not to make matters worse.
