    Hi there

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum, new at this and wasn't sure.

Wonder if anyone can advise on a boot cover issue?

When I opened the boot before it seemed the hinges were hydraulic or something, you could let go of the boot cover at any angle and it would not move.

Something happened though, presumably with the hinges, and now you need force the boot cover to its highest position - cause if you don't it comes crashing down and I tell you, its heavier than you might think (I say this from painful experience).

Any idea what might have happened, is it the case of needing a new hinge/hinges?

    Best regards

    John

There are spring assisters on the hinges. One has come adrift by the sound of it.
If you relove the boot liner, all should become clear ...

  3. A couple of good cable ties round a few of the coils on each spring does the job.

Also gets rid of the annoying Doiiiiinnnnngggg, when you close the lid or go over bumps
