Boot Lid E240

Just noticed a lot of rust in various places around the seam. Had this issue on a BMW a few years ago and tried scraping and cleaning away the rust then treating it but after a year or so it came back. Any thoughts? or even where I could purchase a lid at a reasonable price, I have a panel beater/good paint shop who will spray and fit it.
