Hi,

Unfortunately I reversed to a moving gate! Gate wasn't locked and the wind blew it open.

I was wondering whether anyone can advise me how much this will cost and whether it's repairable?

Just want to know before the insurance co send my car to the body shop.

Thanks in advance

The body stuff definitely repairable , the light cluster is a replacement ....purely a guess but the repair total is probably under 1k but once the approved body repairers get hold of it they’ll probably triple that!

See if a specialist MB breakers has bootlid in your colour, and cluster, and then ‘little knocks’ type repair on the edge of the wing?

Hi I have seen black c class boot lids go on fleebay for about £200 and rear light clusters for around £50? You might get lucky mate. The body shop would prob a have to sort the damage above the light.

Thanks guys for your replies.
Yeah at least ebay looks promising but now that I have make an insurance claim, I'm still waiting for my car to be delivered to the garage. Let's hope that tomorrow it would be the case, so that I know where I stand and can get a courtesy car from the garage.

Not sure whether it applies to all insurance companies but apparently I won't get a courtesy car till my car is being accessed whether it's repairable. Sounds like a not so nice way to comfort a customer.

Anyone knows any specialist MB breakers down in the South?

Seems strange I got a courtesy car when they pick up my old A4 once. Someone hit my car with there door and the smallest dent was done. I got a brand new C class delivered and my car taken away on the back of a lorry 100 miles away. I said to the guy at the time look mate its a small dent ill get a quote and you can pay cash it will be the cheapest way only be a 100 or so. But no he wanted a insurance job which in the end would have cost 1000s I had the merc for 4 weeks. His premium must of taken off like appollo 11.

And that is what’s wrong with insurance
