Any recommendations for a source to replace this?
Only the plastic spigot/pin is broken, however, dealer supplies the whole switch assembly - too expensive!
The switch only comes as a complete assembly on a board with other switches I belive, so you have 2 choices. Either ebay for a discount switch assembly or a scrapper. Alternatively, if it is just a broken plastic spigot, perhaps you could fabricate a replacement from something?
hi ref the boot release switch on the centre console, the one that lifts up ,i have just repaired mine and it functions as it should now ,the inside of the operating part is a crazy idea just waiting to be broken, the little pivot pins break off ,i fixed mine by drilling another hinge pin 1.55 mm diameter and used a 13mm long piece of 1.50 diameter stainless steel welding wire as the new pivot pin ,the new pivot is just next to the old one as close as possible, failing that tricky operation ,ps i am a precision engineer, the switch is just an up and down motion so you could drill through the top but it would look kaky ,i read this lot costs megger money and to be honest its a very poor operating design,if you dont feel you are up to it i dont mind trying to do yours if you cover postage costs,no promises though ,i am in uk bh21 *** post code
